Snow Globe Cocktail Glass

By Crystal Baldwin

Imagine your guests' faces as you hand them a drink that looks like a miniature winter wonderland. The 2025 'Snow Globe' trend is taking gatherings by storm because it's high-impact but low-effort. With just a few pantry staples, you can turn a standard glass into a magical holiday centerpiece.

These are easy to make with just a few, simple ingredients:

  • Rosemary Sprigs: Trimmed to fit the height of your glass.
  • Fresh Cranberries or Pomegranate Seeds: To add festive color and anchor your "tree".
  • Shredded, dried coconut
  • String, tape & scissors
  • Water: Use just enough to cover the base of the glass (about 1 inch)
  • Optional: add a mini snowman for added charm
  • Optional: edible glitter for a swirling effect.

Get Started

  1. Gather all of your ingredients and get them ready to put together. String, fresh rosemary, cranberries, Shredded Coconut, Optional; edible glitter & miniature snowman.

  1. Prep the Glass: Add  1-2 inches of water in the bottom of a freezer-safe glass. Sprinkle a layer of shredded coconut and drop some cranberries on top and push them down a little bit.
  2. Anchor the Tree: Place a rosemary sprig (needles down) in the center, make sure the tips are far enough down to freeze and stay standing. Pro-tip: Use a piece of string and tape across the rim to keep it standing upright while it freezes.
  3. Optional: Sprinkle the bottom and the tree with some edible mica.

  1. The First Freeze: You need to let the surface freeze enough to hold the snowman in place.  Each freezer is different so check yours after 20 minutes to get an idea of when you'll need to gently, push him slightly through the frozen top crust.  Don't push too hard or it will sink (pull it out with a fork if you go too far).  Let the water come up around the snowman and then place back in the freezer for 4-6 nights or overnight.
  2. If you want to add a few more cranberries closer to the surface...gently punch a little hole, enough to let water up, and set a few more berries on.

The Reveal: Once frozen, remove any tape/string. Time to serve up your cocktail.

Pour in your favorite clear or light-colored beverage—like Prosecco, gin and tonic, non-alcoholic white wine or sparkling water for a mocktail —to create the "globe" effect.

Add a little more edible mica if you prefer and stir gently.

Christmas Cranberry Clafoutis
Christmas Cranberry Clafoutis

My favorite Christmas breakfast dish is simple and easy to make and oh so satisfying!  It feels light and airy but still somehow filling and leaves room for Christmas dinner later.

This is often served as dessert however the cranberries and egg filling checks the box for me for breakfast food and I am usually too full after Christmas dinner for dessert!
