Butterfly Pea Flowers are mainly used for their coloring properties since they are pretty tasteless, they are also a good source of antioxidants. They are commonly known as blue tea, as it is often used to create a beautiful blue-hued tea or a "blue chai".
Often used in cocktails & mocktails, herbal teas, colored rice and desserts, breads & baked goods and so much more! (Pictured is sourdough bread with butterfly pea flowers, and butterfly pea flower tea)
Just Add it to water for a beautiful cobalt blue color, add lemon and it changes to a gorgeous violet color. Very little is needed to impart the lovely blue color.
If you have come to one of our classes or events before you might have tried this fun plant in the food and drinks we were serving! If you have come to one of our herbal bread classes Rachel the instructor has definitely introduced you to this plant!
