Come Join this Unique Fiber Arts Workshop!

Learn to weave your own turkey wing and hawk's tail hand brooms in this introductory, hands-on class. Open to all beginners.

We will discuss the tools, materials, and techniques for crafting beautiful and functional brooms that will have you sweeping out the corners in style

This workshop is being taught by a visiting instructor so we are only offering it this once- don't miss out!

The instructions for placing a hanging loop on the brooms so they can be displayed on a wall will be given in class.

Participants will leave with two completed hand brooms!

These brooms are totally functional! They're beautiful works of art that can be displayed or used to sweep.

The material they are made with is broomcorn, which is a traditional fiber that is grown specifically for making brooms. So they really are the ideal sweeping tool!

Please be aware

Broom making is a physical task that requires the use of hands and feet, and moderate hand strength is recommended.

Making hand brooms mostly takes place in your lap. The feet are used to hold a dowel with twine, while the broom is made in the hands.

This workshop is being taught by a visiting instructor so we are only offering it this once!

Cancellation Policy

Due to the limited space and the time needed to prepare for classes we can only give a refund with cancellations 48 hours prior to class for any reason- this includes if you are sick. After that time refunds are not available and we cannot grant credits or place you in a future class as that creates a loss for your class spot.

The reason for this is that the costs for the class and the work have already been done and we do not want our teachers to have to buffer a empty class spot.  We know you can understand this, as classes are so much work (and money) for the teachers.  By purchasing this class you agree to these terms.

If you cannot attend the class we suggest you get someone to take your place or gift it to a friend.  Preparing for a class is a lot of work as you can imagine and space is limited  and we can't fill spots last minute. Thank you for your understanding.

If you miss the class we will gladly hold any handout or class items, for you to pick up later if there are any that are available.
