It's Pumpkin season again! If you don't like those crazy, sugary sweet pumpkin drinks then this recipe is for you. You can control all of the ingredients, the level of spice, the amount of pumpkin, what kind of milk and the sugar - or no sugar.
This is so easy to make and a wonderful treat to make right at home. Plus, it actually has ingredients that are good for you. Be sure to use canned pumpkin puree and not the sugar- laden canned pumpkin pie mix.
It turns out that pure pumpkin is loaded with vitamins, A, C & E as well as magnesium, iron and potassium and of course we can't forget about all of the beta carotene and fiber...awesome for your digestive tract.

The vitamins also help with your vision and your immune system. It helps to slow down sugar absorption which helps with weight while giving you lots of good nutrition.
The spices used in a pumpkin latte are warming and stimulating helping circulation and strengthening your immune system. They also help kill microbes and increase digestion.
Cinnamon is known to lower blood sugar and cholesterol while increasing healthy HDL while also supporting your immune system.

There is a reason we eat (and drink) for the season...foods in season prepare our body and organs for the season ahead and pumpkins pack so much healthy nutrition that we should celebrate and drink up!

This is one of my Mom's old family recipes and she use to make it every fall as soon as the apples came into season and every Thanksgiving.
The whole house smelled like apples and spices...such a great memory. I thought I would share this with you as it is like a hug from back home whenever I smell this cake baking in my oven...from my house to yours I am sending Thanksgiving wishes and love with this recipe.
This can be made sugar-free, low carb or gluten free
I just harvested the last basket of zucchini squash from the garden with some fresh parsley and decided to make one of my favorite quick and easy recipes - Zucchini Patties!
These are so easy to make and they are perfect for a quick dinner or they are great for breakfast as well.
Rosehips are the fruit of the rose flower. Most people are familiar with and understand how touse rose petals but are not so familiar with rosehips.
If a rose is left on the plant and not picked, it is fertilized by pollinators and the petals will fall away. The base of the flower then swells and develops its "fruit" which will look like a pod.
It is usually a soft peach color or can be pink during the hot months but once the frost hits the fruit it becomes a beautiful crimson color. This is when the "hip" is ready to be eaten.
